Algeria's Food Industries Reality And Prospects

Abstract
This research paper aims to highlight the reality of Algeria's foodindustry and its role in the national economy as one of the most important alternatives to economic diversification, and get out of dependency on the oil and gas industry, as well as its important role in ensuring the food security of the population. But through our study of the impact of the food industry branch on some economic indicators, we noted the weak contribution of this branch to the national economy, and its inability to meet the increasing demands for food, due to the obstacles facing this branch of industry in Algeria. Despite efforts by the state to develop this sector, with various programs, it still faces major challenges, because of technological development and competition in the world food industry.
