The model used to understand social media growth has changed from one that focuses on curation (primarily on visual platforms) to an audio-based model focused on algorithms. While Instagram pioneered visual storytelling and had a deep impact on how social media evolves, TikTok has created a new digital ecosystem in which audio does not simply accompany a visual; is the relevant content for content discovery and community building, as well as meme propagation. This paper seeks to analyze the strategies of using trending sounds, which is a key component of organic growth on TikTok, in an in-depth and systematic approach. The implications of this work suggest that creators, brands, and institutions who can deploy an "audio-first" mindset, will expand their reach, relevance, and cultural competency, while contending with the challenges of authenticity and saturation of trend. Keywords: TikTok, Social Media Growth, Algorithmic Culture, Trending Audio, Virality, Digital Strategy, Content Discovery, FYP Algorithm.
