The accountability of Internet Service Providers (ISPs) involves holding them legally responsible for all unlawful actions they commit, whether these are positive acts or negative omissions that violate their established legal obligations. These violations result in legal sanctions issued by the competent authorities and applied by the judiciary, making their responsibility a complex legal nature that includes the elements of fault and penalty. Depending on the nature and type of the violation, this responsibility can take a civil, administrative, or penal (criminal) character.
Internet service providers – technical intermediaries – hosting providers – criminal liability.
