The poeticsubjectaims to interprettheir world through attentive self-reflection. In thisprocess, theyconstructtheirownrepresentations of the universe and narratetheir visions of existence. Often, thiscreativeactdraws on techniques thatenrich the imaginative dimension, notably the use of the mirror. This article examines the variousways the mirrorisconstructedwithin the poetictext and how this technique diminishes the lyrical aspect in favor of a more narrative textuality. We explore itsrole in the “narrativization” of poetry, where self-reflectionthroughmirrorsenablesamultiplicity of voices and a deep introspection into the soul. Our inquirycenterson the question: how do mirrorsmultiply and generate diverse meanings in the poetry of Mohamed Adam? Weanalyzed the multiplicity of the “I” in The Mirrors of the Depths as expressive forces thatendow the poeticdiscoursewith a unique creative power, delvinginto the multiple voicesthatresonatewithinit. Next, weinterpreted the mirrors of the “self as other,” drawing on Paul Ricoeur’s concept of alterity as a fundamental aspect of selfhood. Mohamed Adam explores his existence throughhisrelationshipswithmirrors, expressed in rich descriptive language. By dialoguingwiththesemirrors—especially the femalemirror—he probes the existential possibilities of the “I,” crafting a poeticscenecharacterized by diversity and plurality.Wealsoexamined the subjectivity of the “I feel” and the multiplicity of mirrorsthrough the lens of writingconsciousness and the depth of experience. This “I whofeels,” amidcomplexanxiety and pain, manages to engage in dialogue with the manyvoicesreflected in thesemirrors. The article focuses on interpretingtextualsignsassociatedwith the mirror figure, tracingtheirsemanticdynamics. Overall, itis a predominantlyappliedstudygrounded in close textualanalysis.
