The information technology era renders the world a small settlement. This requires policy makers to review their programmes in view of making the most of FL teaching aspirations. One way to concretise the goals of the intercultural assumption is aiding students to integrate idioms in their daily practice. One way to do this is through training them on instantly finding gates with local idioms through contextual translation. This paper resorts to the use of translation test together with an interview to check students’ readability to integrate idiom rendition in their quotidian practice through intercultural positioning. The findings give hope of the potential linguistic facilities students may use in their way of assimilating idiomatic expressions in their daily use of English. The results hint that they are able, on the whole, to exploit idioms as a tool for developing their intercultural knowledge.
