The integration of content into language teaching has become the hallmark of modern education; henceforth, the article scrutinizes the efficacy of the Theme-Based Approach (TBA) in optimizing the speaking skills among third-year EFL students in Skikda's university. Adopting a quasi-experimental design with pre- and post-test measures, the research involved 70 participants divided into experimental and control groups. The intervention group engaged in nine-week Career-Based Instruction lessons featuring role-plays replicating professional careers while the control group received conventional instruction. Quantitative analysis using SPSS revealed striking disparities in learning outcomes: the experimental group demonstrated marked optimization in speaking proficiency, whereas the control group exhibited shocking regression from the initial results. These findings authenticate the pedagogical significance of content-integrated language learning, that theme-driven learning environments optimize EFL students' speaking skills.
