This paper explores nudity as a cultural metaphor in the novel " I Walk Naked" by the novelist Tarek Eltayeb. In the narrative, nudity transcends its physical dimension to become a semantic system that encompassing psychological and cultural aspects. The study is grounded in central problem concerning how nudity transforms from mere physical exposure into a metaphor that expresses the self’s struggle between liberation and vulnerability, alongside the fear of the domination by the Other. Adopting a cultural semiotic approach, the study offers a critical reading aimed at linking the text to its cultural context in order to understand and analyze the cultural and authoritarian structures that constrain the self. This study seeks to reveal the narrative and symbolic mechanisms upon which the transformations of the meaning of nudity in the novel text are based, through analyzing the pivotal witness in which nudity embodies an existential act that expresses the self’s journey in its search for identity.
