Authors : Boufatah Belkacem .

Abstract

This study aims to identify the determining factors for food security governance in Algeria employing the fuzzy logic approach (TOPSIS) for preference ranking through ideal solution methodology, incorporating expert judgments to establish priority among feasible alternative options. Three criteria strongly related to food security governance in Algeria were adopted: national food security strategies (C1), agricultural innovation (C2), and public-private partnerships (C3). Five alternatives were considered: risk (A1), national capacity development (A2), environmental sustainability (A3), international cooperation (A4), and infrastructure development (A5). Through a cause-and-effect relationship, the study concluded that "agricultural innovation" is the most significant factor influencing food security governance in Algeria, with the highest impact value of (0.880).
