Agricultural development in Algeria. It highlighted that the main challenges facing rural development include climate change, low rainfall, urban expansion encroaching on agricultural areas, and weak water resource management. To address these challenges, sustainable rural development approaches should be adopted by attracting modern agricultural technological innovations and enhancing water security through increased investment in desalination of saline water, while employing artificial intelligence in water resource management via data analytics to provide accurate information that supports strategic decision-making. Additionally, big data analysis and predictive modeling enable decision-makers to better allocate water resources and plan for future water needs, whether in renewable energy-powered desalination, agricultural irrigation systems, or overall water cycle management.
