ABOUT THE JOURNAL:

Journal of Economics and Management Sciences (JEMS) is an international, double-blind peer-reviewed scholarly journal published annually by the Faculty of Economics, Commerce and Management Sciences at Setif 1 University - Ferhat Abbas, Algeria. Since its establishment in 2001, the journal serves as a rigorous platform for the dissemination of high-quality research and theoretical advancements in economics, management, finance, and related disciplines.

As a specialized scientific publication, JEMS seeks to bridge the gap between theory and practice by encouraging innovative, evidence-based contributions that expand the frontiers of knowledge in the economic and management sciences. It welcomes submissions from scholars, researchers, and professionals worldwide and values diversity in methodological and intellectual perspectives.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

No manuscript shall be admitted for consideration unless it is complete and fully compliant with all formal, scientific, ethical, and methodological standards adopted by the Journal. Any submission that fails to satisfy these requirements shall be automatically disqualified from the publication process and shall not, under any circumstances, be transmitted to reviewers for peer evaluation.

LANGUAGES OF PUBLICATION:

The Journal of Economic Sciences and Management Sciences publishes manuscripts exclusively in the following languages: Arabic, French, and English. However, English is authorized as a language of publication only in Special Issues.

Any manuscript submitted in a language other than those specified above shall be rejected outright without assessment of its scholarly content. Authors are further required to observe internationally recognized linguistic conventions, academic norms, and stylistic standards applicable to each language of publication.



EDITORIAL POLICIES:

  • OPEN ACCESS POLICY:

The Journal of Economic Sciences and Management Sciences (JEMS) provides immediate open access to all its content, promoting the global exchange of knowledge. All articles are freely available for reading, downloading, copying, distributing, printing, and linking, without prior permission from the publisher or the author, provided that proper credit to the original source is given.

  • PUBLICATION FEES:

The journal operates completely free of charge. Authors are not charged any fees for submission, evaluation, or publication. The publication process is fully funded the Faculty of Economics, Commerce and Management Sciences at Setif 1 University - Ferhat Abbas, Algeria.

  • COPYRIGHT AND LICENSING:
  • Authors retain copyright of their work and grant the journal the right of first publication.
  • All articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0), which allows others to share, adapt, and build upon the work for non-commercial purposes only, as long as proper credit is given to the original author(s).
  • Authors may archive the final published version in institutional repositories or other scholarly platforms, provided that acknowledgment of the initial publication in the journal is included.
  • Authors are encouraged to share their work online prior to and during the submission process to foster scientific exchange and increase early citations of published articles.


PLAGIARISM AND RETRACTION POLICIES:

  • PLAGIARISM SCREENING:

The Journal of Economics and Management Sciences follows international standards to prevent plagiarism and academic misconduct. All submitted manuscripts are screened using Detectia before peer review, and the final version of accepted articles is also checked to ensure originality.

  • CORRECTIONS AND RETRACTIONS:

The journal corrects any genuine errors reported by readers, authors, or editors as soon as possible, provided the errors do not invalidate the work. A timestamp marks all corrected articles. If significant errors affect the integrity of an article, the editor will retract it with a clear explanation for the retraction.



DOUBLE-BLIND PEER REVIEW PROCESS:

The Journal of Economics and Management Sciences follows a double-blind peer review system to ensure impartiality and integrity in the evaluation of manuscripts. This system guarantees that each manuscript is reviewed by independent experts without revealing the authors’ identities, maintaining full confidentiality. The process proceeds as follows:

  1. Initial Anonymization: Upon submission, our editorial team removes all identifying author information (names, affiliations, contact details) from the manuscript.
  2. Reviewer Assignment: The anonymous manuscript is assigned to an editor, who selects at least two independent expert reviewers from the relevant field.
  3. Expert Evaluation: Reviewers assess the manuscript based on its originality, methodological soundness, scientific contribution, and overall clarity.
  4. Editorial Decision: Based on the comprehensive feedback from the reviewers. the editor makes one of the following decisions:
  • Accept: The paper is suitable for publication.
  • Request Revisions: The author is asked to make revisions and resubmit.
  • Reject: The paper is not accepted for publication, and the editor provides reasoned feedback.



DECLARATION OF COMPETING INTEREST & PRIVACY:

  • DISCLOSURE AND CONFLICTS OF INTEREST:

All authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships with institutions or individuals that could influence their work, including non-financial conflicts (academic, ideological, political, or personal). This ensures transparency and allows readers to assess potential biases. All conflicts should be reported at submission and included in the acknowledgments section.

Example:

I declare that I have no competing financial or personal relationships that could have influenced the work reported in this paper.

  • PRIVACY STATEMENT:

Names and email addresses submitted to the journal are used only for journal purposes and will not be shared with any other parties.



SUBMISSION PROCESS :

Authors wishing to publish in JEM should follow these steps:

1. Registration: Create a personal account on ASJP ( https://asjp.cerist.dz/en/login)

 

2. Access the Journal Page: Visit (https://www.asjp.cerist.dz/en/PresentationRevue/63 )

3. Prepare the Submission: Use the official journal template (available under Instructions for authors) and submit the article as a Word document (.doc or .docx).

4. Submit: Click the "Paper Submission" icon and complete the submission form.

5. Acknowledgment and Tracking: The corresponding author receives an automatic confirmation email and may track the manuscript’s progress (submission, review, and evaluation) through their ASJP account.

Note:

  • The editor-in-chief reserves the right to modify accepted manuscripts that do not conform to scientific, technical, stylistic or grammatical standards, without affecting their content.
  • The editor-in-chief is not obliged to return non-accepted articles.
  • In case, a manuscript has been judged as violating the rules of ethics and research practice, no article will be accepted for the author under question.
  • The opinions expressed in the Journal are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Journal.


PUBLICATION ETHICS AND INTEGRITY STATEMENT:

The Journal of Economics and Management Sciences (JEMS) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. This statement is based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Core Practices and complies with international indexing requirements.
All parties involved in the publication process—editors, reviewers, authors, and the publisher—are expected to adhere to these ethical principles

  1. Editorial Responsibilities :
  • The Editor-in-Chief holds full authority over editorial decisions and ensures a fair, transparent, and double-blind peer review process.
  • Editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit, originality, relevance, and clarity, without discrimination.
  • Editors must maintain confidentiality and act upon any suspected ethical misconduct in accordance with COPE guidelines.
  1. Reviewers’ Responsibilities :

  • Authors must submit original, unpublished work that is not under consideration elsewhere.
  • All sources must be properly cited. Plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or manipulation are strictly prohibited.
  • Authorship should reflect significant intellectual or scholarly contributions.
  • Authors must disclose conflicts of interest and funding sources.
  1. Data Availability and Research Transparency:
  • Authors are encouraged to make research data accessible whenever possible, ensuring transparency and reproducibility.
  • Underlying data must be retained and provided upon reasonable request.

  • Allegations of misconduct are investigated following COPE procedures.

The Journal of Economics and Management Sciences (JEMS) invites scholars, researchers, and doctoral candidates to submit original research articles for its upcoming English-language special issue to be published in June 2026.

  • Language Requirement:

Submissions must be written in English only.
