Authors : Benazzouz Sarah .

Abstract

In light of the rapid transformations shaping the global economic system, the World Trade Organization (WTO) has become the mostsignificantframework for regulatingtrade exchanges between countries, through a set of binding rules and agreements. Withinthiscontext, Algeria has for yearssought to jointhisorganization, recognizing the importance of integrationinto the international economy and openness to multilateral partnerships. However, this process has not merely been a diplomatic or administrative step;it has required Algeria to enter intocomplexnegotiations and undertakedeepreformsaffectingseveral aspects of its national policies. The country has founditselfneeding to reconcile the WTO’srequirementswithits national interests, particularly in terms of protecting the local economy and ensuringsustainabledevelopment.
