Singapore's Maritime Transport Between Market Demands And The Environmental Aspect

Abstract
While maritime transport is an essential sector for global trade, it also has a substantial environmental footprint e.g. greenhouse gas emissions, and ocean pollution. The maritime industry experiences pressure from growing demand for international trade to implement more sustainable measures. This paper investigates approaches in the trade-off between trade expansion and environmental sustainability such as clean fuel adoption, technology innovations, and international regulation. The study underlines the need for industry players to work together to foster a greener maritime industry without jeopardising the efficiency and cost-efficient nature of global tradeiciency
