Excessive Use Of The Internet By The School-aged Adolescent And Its Impact On His Academic Achievement - A Field Study In Algeria-

Abstract

This field study investigated the effect of the schooled adolescent's excessive Internet use on his academic achievement. Where the descriptive approach was adopted, and two tools: a questionnaire on internet use by the schooled adolescent directed to parents, prepared by the researcher, as well as the transcript of records for the first semester of the academic year 2022/2023; The study included a sample of (145) schooled adolescents from Medea and Ain Defla states. The results showed that there is a negative effect of excessive use of the Internet on the academic achievement of schooled adolescents through: the presence of statistically significant differences in the academic achievement rates of schooled adolescents due to the time of daily use of the Internet (less than 4 hours or more than 4 hours); the presence of statistically significant differences in the academic achievement rates of schooled adolescents due to the reason for using the Internet; absence of statistically significant differences in the rates of academic achievement among schooled adolescents due to the interaction between the time of daily use of the Internet and methods of monitoring the guardian. هدفت هذه الدّراسة الميدانية إلى البحث في أثر الإفراط في استخدام الأنترنت من طرف المراهق المتمدرس على التّحصيل الدّراسي لديه؛ حيث تمّ اعتماد المنهج الوصفي، وأداتَيْ جمع البيانات المتمثلة في استبيان استخدام النت من طرف المراهق المتمدرس موجّه للأولياء من إعداد الباحث، وكذا كشوف النّقاط الخاصّة بالفصل الأول من السنة الدّراسية (2022/2023) للتّلاميذ عيّنة الدّراسة؛ حيث شملت الدّراسة عينة من ولايتي المدية وعين الدّفلى بلغت (145) مراهقا متمدرسا من بينهم (69) أنثى. بيّنت النتائج أنّ هناك تأثيرا سلبيّا للإفراط في استخدام الأنترنت على التّحصيل الدّراسي لدى المراهق المتمدرس من خلال: وجود فروق دالة إحصائيا في معدّلات التّحصيل الدّراسي لدى المراهقين المتمدرسين تعزى إلى زمن الاستخدام اليومي للنت (أقل من 4 ساعات أو أكثر من 4 ساعات)؛ وجود فروق دالة إحصائيا في معدّلات التّحصيل الدّراسي لدى المراهقين المتمدرسين تعزى إلى سبب استخدام النت؛ عدم وجود فروق دالة إحصائيا في معدّلات التّحصيل الدّراسي لدى المراهقين المتمدرسين تعزى إلى التّفاعل بين زمن الاستخدام اليومي للنت وطرائق مراقبة الأولياء.
