Abstract: This research paper sheds light on the state of industry in Ottoman Algeria through an in-depth analysis of the natural and human resources that contributed to the development of a deeply rooted local production system. It concludes that this industrial framework-despite the absence of mechanized manufacturing-constituted a self-sufficient economic base and expressed a distinct national industrial identity. The findings highlight that this traditional model successfully met the societal needs and positioned itself as an effective alternative within a context of limited technical capabilities. This industrial trajectory reveals its unique character as a continuity of creative adaptation and sustainable productivity.
