By imposing responsibilities on states to protect fundamental rights that, when interpreted cumulatively, provide access to secure abortion services, the international human rights law indirectly regulate abortion. This regulation is based on an interpretative and evolutionary approach that aims to fairly consider women's health, autonomy, and dignity as a corollary to abortion, without necessarily recognizing the latter as an independent right.
