Efl Language Assessment In Algerian Higher Education: Evidence From Present Works Towards A Better Future

Abstract

In order to grasp the main issues covered and the areas that require more investigation, this exploratory study looked through published research papers on English language assessment in Algeria. The findings and implications of the examined publications on the integration of technology in language assessment, validity and washback studies, language classroom assessment, and test takers/raters’ perceptions will be used in this study to obtain information and serve as a foundation for further research. The analysis demonstrated the poor quality and lack of breadth of research in the domain of language assessment and testing in connection to higher education level. As a result, this report makes suggestions for additional investigation.
