Considering mystical writing as a form of Campbell's "hero's return", we aim to explore its symbolic language. By examining the Metaphysical Poems of Emir Abdelkader, we analyze how the poet, through symbolism, unconsciously reveals his self-perception. Moreover, the Emir's embrace of all religions in his poems raises the question: is it a symbolic testimony to the Unity of Being or a declaration of repressed desire? In essence, could the symbolic language used be a mere reflection of the poet's obsessiv metaphor, or does it convey the testimony to be rendered of the “Hero’s Journey“? Finally, mystical poetry, which seeks to realize the Unity of Being, also reveals its poet's personal myth.
