From The Stands To Tiktok: The Transformation Of Football Fandom In Digital Space

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and understand the transformation of cheering from traditional stadium spaces to digital spaces, particularly social media platforms, with a focus on the new patterns of interaction created by the virtual environment. The study adopted a mixed-methods approach (quantitative–qualitative), using a questionnaire administered to a purposive sample of 86 young university students at the University of El-Oued. Quantitative data were processed using SPSS software, while qualitative data were analyzed through TIFO image analysis using MAXQDA software. The findings revealed a gradual shift in cheering practices from physical presence in stadiums to digital interaction on social media platforms, driven by the easy accessibility of sports content, its rapid circulation, and the attractiveness of visual and symbolic interaction within the digital space. تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل وفهم تحول التشجيع من الملاعب إلى الفضاء الرقمي، وخاصة منصات التواصل الاجتماعي، مع التركيز على أنماط التفاعل الجديدة التي خلقتها البيئة الافتراضية. اعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج المختلط (كمي – نوعي)، وذلك باستخدام استبانة تم توزيعها على عينة مقصودة مكونة من 86 طالباً جامعيا في جامعة الوادي. تمت معالجة البيانات الكمية باستخدام برنامج SPSS، في حين تم تحليل البيانات النوعية من خلال تحليل صورة TIFO باستخدام برنامج MAXQDA. وكشفت النتائج عن تحول تدريجي في ممارسات التشجيع من الحضور الواقعي في الملاعب إلى التفاعل الرقمي على منصات التواصل الاجتماعي، نتيجة سهولة الوصول إلى المحتوى الرياضي، وتداوله السريع، وجاذبية التفاعل البصري والرمزي داخل الفضاء الرقمي.
