The Sociology Of Education And The Sociological Approaches To Educational Disparities

Abstract
In this article, we aim to briefly present the key stages, factors, and thinkers who contributed to shaping the sociology of education, as well as some theories that addressed the issue of educational disparities among students. This article focuses on sociological theories that have examined the topic of schooling, as it represents one of the primary concerns of the sociology of education. Among the issues addressed by these sociological theories, in particular, are inequality and educational disparities among students entering school, depending on the different social backgrounds from which they come. In this article, we will discuss some of the sociological approaches adopted by these theories in addressing this issue.
