Science fiction films encapsulate profound communicative messages that provoke critical inquiry into their thematic constructs; specifically, the cinematic output of Spike Jonze functions as an intertextual bridge where narratives continuously inform one another. Given the recent discursive surge surrounding Artificial Intelligence, it is imperative to examine the visual representations of this phenomenon and their role in interrogating the complex dynamics between humans and machines. This paper offers an analytical reading of the film I'm Here, exploring the representations of the human-AI relationship and its impact on the spectator. The study concludes that the film deliberately "humanizes" the technical signifier by imbuing its connotative layers with themes of vulnerability, sacrifice, and alienation, thereby constructing a semiotic paradox that compels the audience toward a critical reappraisal of identity and existence.
