Exponential Membership Functions In Credit Allocation. Case Study Of Bdl Bank Tlemcen

Authors : Naim Ilham .

Abstract

This study underscores the critical role of quantitative methods in BDL Bank's credit allocation process in Tlemcen. To address the inherent uncertainty in decision-making, Fuzzy Goal Programming (FGP) was applied using exponential membership functions. The proposed framework modeled key factors influencing loan approval, structured around criteria aligned with the bank’s lending methodology. The findings demonstrate that quantitative modeling acts as a rigorous scientific tool, significantly enhancing the efficiency and reliability of decisions in competitive, dynamic financial environments. The study confirms the feasibility of identifying an acceptable loan portfolio under multiple, sometimes conflicting, criteria. To achieve this, the problem was formulated as a mathematical model and solved using LINGO optimization software
