This study evaluates Algeria’s criminal policy in response to criminal phenomena. It examines the legislative and institutional frameworks, identifying their strengths and limitations. The central research question concerns the actual effectiveness of this policy. The research hypothesis posits that, despite the reforms undertaken, certain weaknesses persist. The objective is therefore to assess this policy and propose avenues for improvement. The study employs descriptive, analytical, critical, and comparative methods, drawing on the analysis of legal texts, crime data, and foreign experiences. The findings reveal relatively effective repression, but excessive centralization and insufficient prevention, highlighting the need for innovative approaches.
