The Roots Of Text Linguistics In The Classical Arabic Scholarly Tradition

Abstract

Abstract: Textual studies came as an expansion of linguistic research to include the entire text, as text scholars saw that sentence studies did not go beyond that framework except in precise references to the deep semantic relationships that link sentences. Also, many syntactic phenomena were not explained convincingly within the framework of the sentence, so it was necessary to turn to the framework of a larger unit than the sentence in order to be able to judge these phenomena accurately, and this unit is the text. .
