Islamic Social Finance Mechanisms And Their Role In Advancing Sustainable Development Goals: A Case Study Of The Jordanian Zakat Fund

Abstract
This study highlights the role of Zakat as an effective mechanism for supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through its economic and social contributions to reduce poverty and raise social solidarity. The study adopts both the descriptive and analytical approaches, along with a case study of the Jordanian Zakat Fund. The findings indicate a strong alignment between the Fund’s objectives and the SDGs adopted by the United Nations. The results indicate that the Fund’s programs and activities contribute, directly or indirectly, to the achievement of 8 out of the 17 SDGs. These findings highlight the significant role that Zakat institutions can play in supporting sustainable development and strengthening the social dimension of development.
