Startup ecosystems are increasingly shaped by the dual imperatives of digital transformation and sustainable development. Within these ecosystems support agencies can be seen as the main actors in structuring entrepreneurial dynamics and mediating the access to critical resources. Yet, the existing studies often rely on fragmented indicators or ranking methods which provide very limited insight on how these agencies jointly organize the ecosystem responses. This paper adopts an exploratory quantitative approach to identify typologies of startup support ecosystems based on institutional configurations of support agencies. Using secondary data from international sources, a multidimensional indicator framework capturing support infrastructure, digital transition capacity as well as sustainability orientation and governance quality is constructed. The Principal Component Analysis is employed to derive latent ecosystem dimensions followed by hierarchical cluster analysis to uncover different ecosystem profiles. The findings reveal heterogeneous startup support ecosystem typologies characterized by the different combinations of digital maturity, green orientation and institutional coordination with comparative insights drawn from Algeria and the UK.
