Local Authorities And Sustainable Development: Towards An Integrated Environmental Approach

Abstract
Local Authorities play various roles, including protecting and preserving the environment by ensuring the implementation of the law and sustainable management of local natural resources. However, there are several challenges that affect the effectiveness of this role, such as those related to the geographic environment of the state or the energy conservation of the region. Others are related to management and human activity, such as waste management and pollution. The effectiveness of Local Authorities in protecting the environment and promoting sustainable development remains dependent on collaboration with various local actors such as civil society organizations and the private sector. Cooperation with municipalities also plays a crucial role in achieving local projects
