الملخص
Abstract: This research paper addresses the issue of genetically modified (GM) foods in light of the rapid technological advancements in the food industry and the scientific and legal debates they generate. The importance of the study stems from the growing spread of these products in national markets, including the Algerian market, as a result of economic openness and trade exchange. Although these technologies contribute to improving product quality and increasing production, they also raise concerns regarding their potential impact on consumer health and safety. The study seeks to clarify the concept of genetically modified foods, outlining their characteristics, advantages, and disadvantages. It also focuses on analyzing the Algerian legal framework governing these products and assessing its effectiveness in protecting consumers. Furthermore, it examines the regulatory mechanisms adopted to ensure the safety of these products in the national market. Overall, the study aims to find a balance between the requirements of food development and the protection of public health
