The informal economy in Algeria poses a structural challenge that hinders economic growth and financial sustainability, as it significantly contributes to economic activity without being subject to formal regulation. This research adopts the descriptive–analytical approach to examine this phenomenon highlights that digital transformation can play a pivotal role in integrating this sector by enhancing transparency, broadening participation, and advancing financial inclusion. However, major obstacles remain, including weak digital infrastructure, the absence of suitable legislation, and limited awareness of the importance of digitization. The study recommends adopting supportive legal frameworks, developing technological infrastructure, and promoting electronic payment systems as essential steps toward sustainably integrating the informal economy.
