This study aims to analyze the development path of the recycling sector in Algeria according to the circular economy approach during (2018–2023), based on official data released by the National Waste Agency. The results show that the amount of recycled waste increased by more than 180% in five years, while the number of active institutions doubled from 180 to 360. Despite this notable improvement, the recycling rate (11%) remains below global averages. The study concluded that Algeria is undergoing a gradual shift towards a circular economy model, and that green entrepreneurship is a key driver of this shift by creating economic value and reducing environmental impact. The paper recommends improving sorting infrastructure, developing financial incentives, and strengthening partnerships between universities and institutions to encourage innovation in environmental valuation.
