Analyzing The Performance Of Algerian Non-hydrocarbon Exports Amidst The Proliferation Of Non-tariff Measures (2000–2024)

Abstract
This study aimed to monitor and analyze the trajectory of Algerian non-hydrocarbon exports (2000-2024), highlighting the impact of international regulatory shifts on their performance. The research examined the relationship between export value fluctuations and the escalation of Non-Tariff Measures (NTMs), particularly during periods of intensified procedural pressure from trading partners. The results indicate that export declines (notably in 2015 and 2023) coincided with unprecedented peaks in quality requirements and technical and sanitary standards. The analysis concludes that these restrictions constitute mandatory regulatory frameworks for market access, making compliance a fundamental prerequisite for the international competitiveness of Algerian products.
