Abstract: This study analyses international experiences in the issuance of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) and examines their implications for financial systems and financial inclusion. By comparing advanced economies, developing countries, and regional cross-border initiatives, the research identifies key determinants of successful CBDC implementation, including digital infrastructure readiness, regulatory coordination, institutional trust, and user adoption incentives. The findings indicate that while CBDCs hold significant potential to enhance payment efficiency, financial inclusion, and monetary sovereignty, their effectiveness depends on systemic integration and governance frameworks rather than technological deployment alone.
