Authors : Kadja Amina . Dafri Rima .

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of climate financial technology (climate fintech) companies in reducing carbon emissions, thereby contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 13. The study adopts an analytical approach by tracking the evolution of global carbon emissions from 1990 to 2022, identifying the main causes and the countries most responsible for their increase. It also examines the key technologies used by climate fintech companies—such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and environmental data analytics. The study analyzes several core indicators, including the volume of climate fintech funding between 2021 and 2023 and its distribution across leading countries in this sector. The findings reveal a positive relationship between the development of climate fintech and the achievement of climate goals, whether through facilitating green finance or providing innovative digital solutions for monitoring and reducing emissions. The study concludes that climate fintech companies play a central role in the transition toward a low-carbon economy and contribute effectively to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, provided they are supported with appropriate regulations, enhanced transparency, and the availability of specialized expertise.
