Abstract

This article aims to distinguish between the concepts of formal semantics, lexical semantics, cognitive semantics and cognitive lexical semantics. By definition these terms carry nuanced and profound meanings, depending on their respective fields of study in languages and dialects. Words, lexemes, or concepts are employed differently across disciplines and serve as central elements in these areas of research.
