The Role Of Modern Technology And Artificial Intelligence In Improving The Performance Of Algerian Commercial Banks: A Case Study Of Tiaret

Abstract
This study examines the extent to which modern technology and artificial intelligence contribute to improving the financial performance of Algerian commercial banks, focusing on Tiaret Province. Using a quantitative approach, a field questionnaire was administered to 108 randomly selected bank employees. Data were analysed via Stata 19.2E, applying validity and reliability tests, trend and correlation analyses, as well as multiple linear and logistic regressions. Results indicate that technology and artificial intelligence enhance banking service quality by reducing errors, accelerating transactions, and limiting paper-based processes. They also improve risk analysis and predictive capabilities, boosting financial stability and competitiveness, particularly among younger clients. Despite uneven adoption and operational challenges, Algerian banks are progressing toward actual digital transformation. The study recommends broader AI integration, staff training, and investment in digital infrastructure to strengthen financial performance and market positioning.
