The principle of the irremovability of a Constitutional Court member is considered one of the most significant guarantees implicitly recognized by the Algerian Constitution to safeguard the independence of the Court’s members and to ensure the performance of their duties free from any external pressure or influence. However, there are constitutionally and legally established cases in which a member’s duties may be terminated, encompassing both ordinary and exceptional situations, each subject to specific legal procedures. In the event that a member’s position becomes vacant, a replacement shall be appointed in accordance with the applicable provisions of each case.
