Abstract

Abstract: This study aimed to examine the effect of physical preparation using interval training on certain physiological variables in U19 youth football players. The researcher employed an experimental method on a sample from Najm Beni Oualbane Club, divided into a control group and an experimental group, each consisting of 12 players randomly selected using simple random sampling. The proposed training program was applied to the experimental group over a period of six weeks, with 2 to 3 training sessions per week. Pre- and post-tests were conducted for both groups using a Polar 300 heart rate monitor to measure resting heart rate and heart rate recovery, as well as the field test Yo-Yo IR1 to determine maximal aerobic speed. The results indicated that the proposed interval training program had a positive effect on physiological variables, namely resting heart rate, heart rate recovery, and maximal oxygen consumption.
