Terminology And Contemporary Arabic Criticism

Abstract

With the influx of research and criticism from other cultural centers, especially Western ones, and in light of the great interest shown by Western researchers and critics in this matter, the problem of terminological unity comes to the forefront. Although the presence of terminology is not a recent or foreign phenomenon in the Arab cultural sphere—rather, it has a presence on multiple levels in numerous fields of Arab knowledge—the problem of its unity remains a persistent challenge for Arab researchers and critics. It is the source of a lack of integration and cooperation that could have achieved formidable results, potentially overcoming individualistic accomplishments and raising the level of literary and critical contribution.
