The Phonological Structure In The Farewell Sermon: A Pragmatic Linguistic Study

الملخص
تتناول هذه الدراسة البنية الصوتية في *خطبة حجة الوداع* بوصفها نصًا تأسيسيًا جمع بين البعد الديني والتشريعي والبلاغي. وتتمثل مشكلة البحث في الكشف عن دور العناصر الصوتية – من صوامت وصوائت ومقاطع وإيقاع – في تعزيز الفعالية التواصلية والإقناعية للخطبة. اعتمد الباحث منهجًا لسانيًا تداوليًا يجمع بين أدوات الفونيتك والفونولوجيا من جهة، ومفاهيم التداولية الحديثة من جهة أخرى، مع توظيف التحليل التطبيقي لمقاطع مختارة من الخطبة. أظهرت النتائج أنّ البنية الصوتية أسهمت في ترسيخ المعنى عبر الإيقاع الداخلي والتوازي الصوتي والتركيبي، وأن الأصوات الانفجارية والمجهورة والحركات القصيرة والطويلة كوّنت نظامًا صوتيًا متماسكًا سهّل الحفظ والنقل الشفهي. كما خلصت الدراسة إلى أنّ الوظائف الجمالية والدلالية والحجاجية للأصوات متكاملة، وهو ما جعل الخطبة نصًا بلاغيًا حيًا قادراً على التأثير المستمر في المتلقي. This paper investigates the phonological structure of the *Farewell Sermon* as a foundational discourse that intertwines religious, legislative, and rhetorical dimensions. The study addresses the question of how phonological features—namely consonants, vowels, syllables, and rhythm—function to enhance the communicative and persuasive force of the sermon. Adopting a pragmatic linguistic framework, the analysis integrates tools from phonetics and phonology with insights from contemporary pragmatics, applied to selected excerpts of the text. The results demonstrate that the phonological architecture reinforced meaning through internal rhythm, sound and syntactic parallelism, and that the interplay of plosive and voiced sounds with both short and long vowels created a coherent system that facilitated memorization and oral transmission. The study concludes that the aesthetic, semantic, and argumentative functions of sound operate in an integrated manner, rendering the sermon a dynamic rhetorical discourse with enduring impact on its audience
