This study investigates Algerian medical educators’ readiness and perspectives on implementing English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) at Batna 2 University. Using a descriptive‑analytical design, a stratified random sample of 160 educators responded to a structured questionnaire, following a pilot focus group validation. Findings indicate that while 76.3% of participants held favorable attitudes toward EMI, only about half felt prepared to transition from French to English. Oral proficiency (speaking, pronunciation) was rated lowest, whereas reading and writing skills were stronger. The majority emphasized the need for structured in‑service training focused on medical English and EMI pedagogy. The results highlight a readiness paradox: positive perceptions coexist with insufficient preparation. This underscores the need for comprehensive training, institutional support, and glocalized EMI policy alignment. Practical implications include designing medical‑specific EMI courses, embedding continuous professional development, and fostering collaborative communities of practice to balance global aspirations with Algerian higher education realities.
