International conventions and national legislations have included the principle of freedom of candidacy and consider it as one of the guaranteed political rights, as candidacy is considered the basis of the electoral process, through the participation of political parties in elections with the aim of achieving the principle of rotation of power, which is one of the legal guarantees in this framework, and thus promoting political participation as one of the components of a democratic system based on competitive elections within the framework of integrity, transparency and true multi-partyism.
