Abstract
Abstract: This study investigates the latent cultural structures of power within Ibn Khaldun's travelogue, (Autobiography of Ibn Khaldun and his Journey East and West). It re-examines the work from a cultural perspective, considering it a political discourse that reproduces the image of authority through various mechanisms. The research employs a sociological-cultural critique, drawing on Foucault's concepts of the microphysics of power, Bourdieu's theories of symbolic capital, Gramsci's ideas on the organic intellectual, and Hicham Sharabi’s theses on the patriarchal system. The findings reveal that power in the travelogue is not merely hierarchical but a complex, interconnected network exercised through multiple apparatuses: the inner circle and informants, intellectuals and discourse, and the sacralization of authority alongside the politicization of religion. Everyone, it appears, is complicit in the game of power, whether consciously or not. The study highlights how Ibn Khaldun, as an organic intellectual, leveraged his symbolic and cultural capital, translating his intellectual position into a form of authority. He employed his discourse to both serve and resist power at different times. In doing so, the travelogue exposes the multifaceted nature of power, demonstrating that it is exercised by all individuals and institutions within society. الملخص باللغة العربية: تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى استقراء الأنساق الثقافية المضمرة للسلطة في رحلة "التعريف بابن خلدون ورحلته غرباً وشرقاً"، وإعادة قراءتها ثقافياً بوصفها خطاباً سياسياً يعيد إنتاج صورة السلطة عبر آليات مختلفة. تعتمد الدراسة على منهج النقد الثقافي السوسيولوجي، مستفيدة من مفاهيم فوكو في ميكروفيزياء السلطة، ونظريات بورديو في الرأسمال الرمزي، وتنظيرات غرامشي حول المثقف العضوي، وأطروحات هشام شرابي في النظام الأبوي. كشفت النتائج أن السلطة في الرحلة ليست هرمية فحسب، بل شبكة متداخلة تمارس عبر أجهزة متعددة: البطانة والوشاية، المثقف والخطاب، تديين السلطة وتسييس الدين، حيث يظهر الجميع متورطين في لعبة السلطة بوعي أو دون وعي. تبرز الدراسة كيف استثمر ابن خلدون رأسماله الرمزي والثقافي كمثقف عضوي، مترجماً موقعه المعرفي إلى قوة سلطوية، وموظفاً خطابه لخدمة السلطة تارة ومقاومتها تارة أخرى. وبذلك تكشف الرحلة عن الوجه الآخر للسلطة بجميع أجهزتها، في كونها تمارس من طرف جميع الأفراد والأجهزة في المجتمع. الكلمات المفتاحية : النقد االسلطة؛ لثقافي؛ خطاب السلطة؛ الرأسمال الرمزي؛ الخطاب الخلدوني.
