Abstract : This research paper seeks to address a fundamental idea presented by the Holy Qur’an in its first foundational stages about ancient poetic discourse. The matter relates to the extent of the soundness of the mental perceptions and intellectual patterns on which this discourse was built, and the extent of the possibility of building a rational, cohesive society in light of the ambiguity of these perceptions. The Qur’an has emphasized The Honorable sounded the alarm on this issue based on two important matters. The first is that the Arab taste has become deeply in love with poetry, being fascinated by it, and rejecting everything else. The second is its excessive fanaticism, subjectivism, and stirring up strife, based on the nature of the universal vision that these founding texts carry. And to the poet’s ability to direct the collective conscience and the human soul, positively and negatively, the Qur’anic position on the issue ranged between strict rejection on the one hand, and possibilities of acceptance and exception on the other hand, depending on the vision and topics treated. Accordingly, this research paper seeks to demonstrate the extent of the damage that the Holy Qur’an has caused to the ancient Arabic poetic taste, and to reveal the rational foundations on which the Qur’anic vision was based in imposing its new logic.
