Abstract: This research paper aims to analyze the challenges hindering the implementation of inclusive education in mainstream schools, based on a review and analysis of previous studies. The study utilized an analytical approach and Thematic Analysis of a range of relevant research and literature. The results revealed a gap between the theoretical framework of inclusive education, emphasized as a fundamental human right, and its practical application on the ground. The most prominent challenges were identified into five interconnected thematic pillars: 1) Structural and Physical challenges (lack of funding, infrastructure, and resources), 2) Human and Professional challenges (insufficient teacher training, high student density/class size), 3) Academic and Curricular challenges (rigid curriculum, unclear policies and models), 4) Social and Cultural challenges (societal stigma, lack of family awareness and cooperation), and 5) Collaboration and Coordination challenges (weak mechanisms for cooperation among stakeholders). Based on these findings, the paper proposes a package of comprehensive strategies to address these challenges, including enhancing investment in infrastructure and resources, reforming teacher preparation and training programs, adopting a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach, implementing community awareness campaigns, and strengthening collaboration mechanisms between the school, families, and specialists. The study concludes that successful implementation of inclusive education requires an integrated and systemic approach that addresses these challenges simultaneously rather than in isolation.
