This research aims to explore the reality of growth of the e-commerce both within the global economy and in the Middle East and North Africa region. This research focuses on the period preceding the emergence and spread of the corona virus and the period following it, up to 2025 using a descriptive and analytical approach. The study concluded that there has been an excessive growth in reliance on conducting commercial transactions through digital platforms, especially with the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting restrictions on personal movement and lockdown policies, as well as the widespread use of smart phones and mobile devices. Global e-commerce sales reached $26.673 trillion, equivalent to approximately 30% of GDP. In the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, the e-commerce market grew to exceed $50 billion in 2025. However, the growth rate in the region remains low compared to international standards. The penetration rate in the MENA region reached approximately 5.7% in 2022, compared to a global average of 19%.
