Abstract: The linguistic shaping of character in children’s theatre is central to constructing the dramatic text, with language adapted to the child’s cognitive and emotional stage. Dialogue is the main vehicle for presenting and developing characters, creating lively interaction that engages the young audience and reinforces values and behaviours. Presented in an appealing style with suitable vocabulary and subtle rhetorical touches, language and character work together to achieve both educational and artistic goals, enriching the experience and supporting the child’s intellectual and emotional growth.
Key words: language; character; children’s theatre; education; development.
