Nurses Workload And Care Quality : The Case Of The Emergency Medical And Surgical Department At Bejaia University Hospital

Abstract
In this paper we attempt to address the relationship between workload and quality of care. We conducted a qualitative study with emergency nurses at the University Hospital of Bejaia. To analyse their work situation under organisational and human pressure. This study showed that the workload decreases the performance and motivation of nurses, and causes them health problems that have drawbacks on the whole care mission from health protocol to communication and the caregiver and patient relationship.
