الملخص
تسعى هذه الورقة البحثية إلى تناول موضوع لطالما شغلني في العقدين الأخيرين، وهو موضوع الذكاء: هل الذكاء واحد أم متعدّد؟ وما علاقة الذكاء بالقدرة والمهارة؟ وما دوره في تعليم اللغات ومنها اللغة العربية؟ ويعود اهتمامي بالموضوع إلى سنوات تدريسي في التعليم العام، ومن خلال احتكاكي اليومي بالمتعلّمين، ومحاولتي لتفسير التفاوتات الكثيرة بينهم في القدرات (أو أقول الذكاءات)، ثم بالتحاقي بالتعليم الجامعي، ومناقشتي لبعض المذكرات التي تناولت موضوع الذكاءات المتعدّدة، واطلاعي على مؤسس نظرية (هاورد جاردنر Howard Gardner) تزعم أن الذكاء ذكاءات، وما رشح عنها من دراسات علمية وبحوث ميدانية في مختلف المجالات تنتصر لها، ولكن ما لفت انتباهي طيلة هذه السنين، حسب اطلاعي، هو غياب قراءة تقييمية لهذه النظرية. تقف على جوانب الصواب فيها وما يتوافق مع النتائج الميدانية في مجال التعليم والدراسات العصبية من جهة، وعلى جوانب المبالغة والزلل فيها. This research paper seeks to address a topic that has preoccupied me for the past two decades: intelligence: Is intelligence one or multiple? What is the relationship between intelligence and ability and skill? What is its role in language teaching, including Arabic? My interest in the topic goes back to my years of teaching in public education, through my daily interactions with learners, and my attempts to explain the many disparities between them in abilities (or should I say intelligences). Then, when I joined university education, I discussed some memoirs that addressed the topic of multiple intelligences, and became acquainted with the founder of the theory (Howard Gardner), who claims that intelligence is intelligences. The scientific studies and field research that have emerged from it in various fields support this theory. However, what has caught my attention throughout these years, according to my knowledge, is the absence of a critical, evaluative reading of this theory. This reading examines its merits and what is consistent with field findings in the field of education and neuroscience, on the one hand, and its flaws and exaggerations, on the other.
