Legal Gap Regarding The Governing Law Of Engagement In Algerian Legislation: What Is The Solution?

Authors : Djendouli Fatima Zohra . Belhocini Hamza .

Abstract

Engagement, as a step toward marriage, presents complex issues in private international law, particularly regarding which country's law applies. Algerian law does not provide clear rules for determining the applicable law in engagement cases involving foreign elements. This legislative gap requires reliance on legal characterization and general principles of private international law to resolve such matters.
