Many Algerian companies continue to face significant challenges in fulfilling their environmental responsibilities. This issue has gained increasing importance in the context of globalization and the global push toward sustainable development. The environmental responsibility of Algerian firms is now a growing concern, not only for regulators but also for broader society. In response, the Algerian government has implemented various policies and instruments aimed at reinforcing environmental accountability within the business sector. The findings suggest that public policies play a key role in shaping and promoting environmental awareness and compliance among Algerian enterprises. While progress remains limited and overall performance is still below international standards, there are encouraging signs—particularly among large companies—which appear to have become more conscious of the importance of acting as environmentally responsible stakeholders.
