This study investigates how political digital content circulating on the platform X is received and how such exposure influences political participation among Algeria’s young political elite. Contemporary media ecosystems actively funnel political messages toward all social strata, yet youth remain the most responsive group, displaying noticeable optimism about fostering a modern, dynamic political landscape. Digital platforms exploit this responsiveness, moving beyond their informational function to shape users’ views—positively and negatively—while offering specific gratifications tied to their use. To address the study’s questions and objectives, we adopted the social survey method; the questionnaire served as the primary instrument for data collection. Findings indicate that X has become a pivotal venue for exchanging and debating political issues, stimulating youth engagement in various political activities, including formal participation. Recent months reveal an intensified presence of diverse party representations on X. Nonetheless, such visibility has not yet translated into a consistently direct or decisive influence on politicians’ orientations, nor has it secured robust, active political participation aligned with public interest.
